Alpacas
at West Ranch is a boarding facility for alpacas and
llamas. We are proud of our full service boarding
facility designed to meet the needs of alpaca owners
looking to agist a herd of one alpaca or many
alpacas. Animals that are boarded at Alpacas at West
Ranch are cared for as our own.The ranch boasts
over 40 acres of pastureland, some irrigated pasture
and some natural grassland. The alpacas live in
oak-shaded pastures with easy access to fresh water,
twice daily grass hay, and minerals and pellets on a
regular basis. All animals living at West Ranch are
on a monitored regime of vitamins and worming
medications. All animals receive an annual CD&T
injection. In addition all crias born at West Ranch
are cared for following our post natal protocol
including daily, weekly and monthly weighing as the
cria gets older; vitamins and worming treatments and
introduction to halter training. All animals are
monitored carefully and meticulously. Careful health
and breeding records are kept and are always
available for the owner to view.
We work closely with Dr. David Jensen DVM, who
has been caring for and treating camelids for over
20 years. Dr. Jensen has extensive knowledge of
camelid reproduction issues and this has served West
Ranch very well over the years.
We invite you to explore the website and learn
more about our boarding facility and what we and
others refer to as “alpaca heaven”.
